Baby clothes and accessories aren't truly essentials of a baby registry, considering friends and family are likely to rush off to gift adorably small outfits to your newest family member.
However, if you are not having a shower, or you like to be overly prepared, here are a few tips and a few fun items you can add to personalize your baby's closet.

Tip 1: Choose a simple set of socks that all match.
Know how the sock gremlins always seem to steal matching sets? Imagine if the socks were only 2 inches long… much easier to disappear! Keep the laundry simple.
Tip 2: Seek out one-piece sleepers with zippers instead of snaps.
Get some advice from friends and family here, but in my circle I have heard that snap ups quickly went to the bottom of the drawer in favor of easier zippered pjs.
Tip 3: Add some unisex cotton gowns to the closet.
They are easy to put on and even easier for those 3am diaper changes, with no footies to slip out of and no snaps or zippers to deal with at all.
Tip 4: Diagonal snap kimonos provide a newborns' umbilical cord comfort.
Unisex one-piece kimono bodysuits prevent snaps from rubbing against the belly button in the first week or two after birth.
Tip 5: Add a few memorable, fun or personalized items.
Think about that first set of baby booties you'll want as a keepsake. Look for baby clothes from your alma mater for your newest little team cheerleader. And don't forget that hats and sunglasses are just as functional as they are stylish for your new little one!
